This Monday the Albany County Legislature will vote on the
First Responder Appreciation Program for Albany County.
A twelve member commission to be established.
The police and firefighters are expected to respond to life threatening emergency’s and large scale disasters ,
this honorable body believes that Albany county owes a debt of gratitude to our heroic first responders.
Under this program , it would establish a first responder eligibility or preference for educational and home buying grants also first responders may receive discounts such as an agreed upon percentage off purchased goods and services at participating establishments .
Legislator Brian Scavo said” It is again my great honor to help our first responders who do so much for us, my special thanks to my fellow legislators, Majority leader Frank Commisso , Phil Steck, Chris Higgins, and Legislator Sandy Gordon, this passed both the Law Committee and Audit and Finance committee , this is a voluntary commission.
